On Wednesday 17th of May 2017, a new regulation about emigration was approved in Strasbourg: from now on, thanks to the biometric passport, Ukrainian citizens can travel freely in the EU for 90 days without the visa (England and Ireland excluded).
It is an historic decision that had been waited for 8 years and that symbolizes how Ukraine and the EU are constantly getting closer. The Ukrainian President Poroshenko indeed declared, "Ukraine returns to the European family. Ukraine says a final farewell to the Soviet and Russian Empire".
Thanks to this news, citizens could finally say goodbye to the long and expensive bureaucratic procedures that made difficult to travel in the EU. In particular, Ukrainian entrepreneurs, who would like to find new business opportunities, will benefit of this decision.
